HOW TO PUT THE DONKEY AMIGURUMI CUT YARN STRIPS FOR MANE TOGETHER

On the 4" cardboard, wind about 70 rounds of Dark Gray yarn. Make 140 4" long yarn strips by cutting both ends.

NOSTRIL AND EYES

 credit To own creators

Crochet 6 chains, then slip stitch to the first chain to form a ring. Make 2.

The eyes on adult donkey amigurumi are sewn-on buttons (10mm black domed button). At Round 24, the eyes are sewn. The distance between two eyes is approximately 20 sts.

Position the head so that the mouth is facing down. Mark the top centerline of the head and sew the first button eye 10 stitches to the left/right at Round 24. Use a long needle and a few strands of strong thread. After knotting the first eye, insert your needle into the head and exit from the position of the second eye. Pull the thread to sink the button eye deeper into the head than usual. Before sewing the second button eye, knot the thread on the second eye. Due to the tension of the thread, the second eye will also sink into the head.

Sew the thread back to the first eye and knot it to secure the eye's indentation. You can sew with a tapestry needle and yarn if they can pass through the button hole.

The donkey's ears are sewn at a diagonal angle, as shown in the image. Pin the front of the ears 16 stitches apart at Round 36, and the back 8 stitches apart at Round 41.

To finish the assembly, stitch around the base of the ear to the head. Do the same for the other ear.

ALL PARTS SHOULD BE SEWN TO THE BODY.

To complete the final assembly, you'll need Head, Body, Arms, Legs, Tail, and Mane Strips.

SEW THE HEAD TO THE BODY

Mark approximately 3 stitches x 14 rows at the centre bottom of the head. Mark the same thing on the body from the top centre to the front side. These are the connecting points between the head and the body.

Sew the head to the body with a tapestry needle and yarn. The head is slightly tilted forward.

ATTACH THE ARMS AND LEGS TO THE BODY

  credit To own creators

Stitch the arms to the donkey amigurumi by placing them between the head and the body.

Stitch the legs together at Round 14, about 18 stitches apart.

Finally, stitch the tail to the back of the donkey amigurumi.

INSTALLATION OF MANE

Mark the position of the head's mane, which is about 5 stitches wide and runs straight down to the back of the head.

 credit To own creators

These images show how to sew the yarn strips together to form the mane. It should be noted that only the stitches between the top and bottom rows are fastened. Install the mane with the same colour yarn as the zebra amigurumi's stripes.

Continue to fasten until you reach the body's joint.

If you prefer, you can leave the mane bushy or trim it a little shorter.

HAPPY CROCHET!
